Disney Vacation Planning FAQ

Question 1

Is using a Disney vacation planner really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes — completely free on most trips. As an independent travel advisor of Fora Travel, I'm paid a commission by Disney and other travel suppliers when you book, at no extra cost to you on most trips. You pay the same price you would booking directly, but you get expert guidance, personalized itineraries, and someone in your corner every step of the way.

Question 2

Why should I use a Disney travel advisor?

Accepted Answer

Disney vacations involve dozens of moving parts — resort selection, dining reservations that open 60 days out, ride strategies, and more. As an independent travel advisor of Fora Travel, I handle all of it for you at no extra cost on most trips, and I advocate for you if anything goes wrong.

Question 3

How do I plan a Disney World trip?

Accepted Answer

Planning a Disney World trip involves choosing your resort, park tickets, dining reservations, and Lightning Lane strategy — all of which can be overwhelming. The easiest way is to fill out our free trip planning form. We will match you with a Disney specialist who will handle every detail and build a custom itinerary around your family's interests and budget.

Question 4

Is it worth using a Disney travel agent?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Disney vacations involve dozens of moving parts — resort selection, park hopper options, dining reservations that open 60 days out, ride strategies, and more. A Disney travel agent saves you hours of research, catches promotions you might miss, and advocates for you if anything goes wrong. Our clients consistently say their trip was better than they ever could have planned on their own.

Question 5

How much does a Disney vacation cost?

Accepted Answer

Disney vacation costs vary widely depending on resort category, time of year, party size, and length of stay. A family of four can expect to spend anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000+ for a week at Walt Disney World. We will work within your budget to find the best value — and we will alert you to any Disney promotions that apply to your trip.

Question 6

Which is better — Disney World or Disneyland?

Accepted Answer

Both are magical, but they offer different experiences. Disney World in Orlando is much larger, with four theme parks, two water parks, and dozens of resort hotels — ideal for longer stays and first-timers who want to see everything. Disneyland in Anaheim is more compact and walkable, perfect for a long weekend or families on the West Coast. We can help you decide which is the right fit for your family.

Question 7

What is the best Disney cruise for families?

Accepted Answer

Disney Cruise Line consistently ranks among the top family cruise lines in the world. For first-timers, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder offer classic itineraries from Florida and California. The newer Disney Wish features the most immersive Disney theming at sea. The best ship depends on your itinerary preferences, budget, and which characters your family loves most — we can walk you through every option.

Question 8

How far in advance should I book a Disney vacation?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak seasons like spring break, summer, and the holidays. Popular Disney resort rooms and dining reservations fill up quickly. The earlier you book, the more options you have — and the better chance of catching early-booking Disney promotions.
